David is a reportage photographer; his images are often part of a series that inform or tell a story - Humanist documentary photography. His work has been published extensively in the broad-sheets and magazines. Photography in Cuba culminated in a major exhibition at the MAC, Birmingham. His short films have had success at film festivals in London and Bristol.

David's work in photography now spans decades and portrays many significant events in an ever changing world. Days after the Berlin Wall crumbled, November 1989, David travelled to the eastern sector to photograph events as they unfolded.

A world tour of India, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Mexico, Canada, USA was a photographic apprenticeship and produced over 2000 images, along with an inspired portfolio. When Fidel Castro opened Cuba to tourism in 1992, David was able to gain unprecedented access. His work depicted 'People with Spirit' and became a major exhibition, entitled 'Gente con Espiritu' held at the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham.

David travelled throughout the UK, on a project about the consumption of alcohol in British society. Humour and gritty reality are depicted in the resulting work, entitled ‘The Occasional Drink’. The images formed part of a BA (hons) degree in photography, at the London College of Printing.

Later, David took on work for aid agencies and travelled worldwide. While on an overnight bus travelling through Central America, he was drugged and robbed of two Leica M6 cameras, four lenses, and all exposed film. It happened in the notorious Chiapas mountainous region of Mexico, home to the outlawed 'Zapatistas'.

After gaining an MA in Film & TV Production from Bristol University, David began making films. He’s since produced, directed and shot several short films.

David lives in London.
